Marley Bassett

Hi!

My name is Marley Bassett and I am The Post and Courier's retail and trending reporter for its main newsroom in Charleston, South Carolina.

Previously, I was the nightside digital content producer and assignment desk editor for WIS News 10 in Columbia, South Carolina and a freelance reporter for The Lexington County Chronicle in Lexington, South Carolina. 

I graduated with honors in May 2025 from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's in mass communication with a minor in political science and a certificate in strategic communication. I spent my first two years in college at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina where I was a double major in mass communication and political science with a minor in history. 

I am a Lowcountry native, hailing from Summerville, South Carolina and in my free time you can find me reading, baking and spending time with my family and boyfriend.
